President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping visiting Železara Smederevo
During his visit to Serbia, Chinese president Xi Jinping visited Železara Smederevo which will be taken over by the Chinese company Hesteel at the end of June.
He ended his three-day visit to Serbia by visiting Serbian steel mill in the company of the President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolić, where they were hosted by the Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić.
The ceremony in Smederevo was attended by the members of the Government and the President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik.
The interest of Chinese, Serbian and international media in the Xi’s visit to the steel mill was extreme, which can be seen by the presence of a large number of press teams in Smederevo this weekend.
President Xi Jinping said that his visit to Serbia and the signing of agreements set the relations between two countries to a higher level, adding that Serbia has always been sincere friend and reliable partner for China.
The Xi’s visit to Smederevo shows how important Železara is to the Chinese partner.
At the ceremony on the occasion of this visit, the Prime Minister and the guests addressed the workers, and then, with the President of “Hesteel” Yu Yong, visited the hot rolling mill and the workers’ cafeteria.
